Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or hire Solid Rockwall Concrete and Masonry for work at your property. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking work with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Your job will also have its own written estimate or contract. That agreement adds to these terms, and where the two differ, the written agreement for your job controls.
The work we do
We're a masonry contractor in Rockwall, TX. We do brick, stone, block and concrete work for homes in Rockwall and the cities around it. That includes foundation repair, chimney repair, tuckpointing, retaining walls, pavers, walkways and outdoor kitchens.
The pages on this site, starting with our home page, describe that work in general terms. They aren't a promise that a certain repair or method fits your house, because that depends on what we find when we see the job in person. You can read more about our crew on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, done in person and come with no obligation. We base each estimate on what we can see and measure the day we visit. Your price mostly depends on the size of the job, the materials you pick, how easy the work area is to reach and what's behind the brick or under the slab.
Sometimes we open a wall or dig out a footing and find damage nobody could see before, like rotted framing, poor drainage or a weak base. When that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and give you a written change before we do any extra work. We won't charge you for extra work you didn't approve.
An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material prices can change, so we may need to update it. General information about cost on this website isn't a quote for your job.
Scheduling and cancellation
We set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Weather plays a big part in masonry, because mortar and concrete need the right temperature and dry conditions to cure. Rain, freezing nights or extreme heat can push back a start date or pause work partway through.
Delays caused by weather, material shortages, permit or inspection timing, or conditions we find on site don't break this agreement. We'll tell you as soon as we know the schedule has to move.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials made or cut for your job, or work has started, you may owe for those materials and the work done so far, as your estimate or contract spells out.
Payment
Your estimate or contract lists the payment terms before work begins, including any deposit and when the balance is due. Unless that agreement says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is done.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up. We may also use any remedy Texas law gives contractors to collect what's owed.
Warranties and disclaimers
We stand behind our work, and your satisfaction is guaranteed. If something we built doesn't look or hold up the way it should, call us and we'll come take a look.
Your estimate or contract states any written warranty for your job, along with what it covers and for how long. Products we install may also come with a warranty from the company that makes them, and we'll pass that on to you. Apart from those written warranties, and as far as Texas law allows, we make no other warranties, express or implied. That includes implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Warranties don't cover damage caused by things outside our work, such as soil movement or drainage changes after the job, other contractors' work, misuse, or normal weathering. Natural brick, stone and mortar also vary in color and texture, and some variation is normal, not a defect.
The information on this website is general and offered as is. It isn't professional advice for your house, and we don't promise it's complete or current.
Limits on our liability
We're fully licensed and insured. As far as Texas law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to our work or this website is limited to what you paid us for the work the claim is about.
We aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost use of your property, lost income or the cost of staying somewhere else. Nothing in these terms limits liability that Texas law doesn't allow us to limit.
Settling disagreements
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first at (972) 961-1232. We'll come out and try to make it right, and that settles most problems.
If we can't work it out within 30 days of your notice, either of us can ask for mediation in Rockwall County, Texas, before filing a lawsuit. Any lawsuit about these terms or our work will be brought in the courts of Rockwall County, Texas.
Governing law
The laws of the State of Texas govern these terms and any work we do, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Work you've already signed for stays under the terms that applied when you signed, unless we both agree in writing to change them.
